Not pretending to be an expert, but I know enough to offer some assistance/advice to anyone who has any mechanical problems with their cars, so give me a shout

heres one for ya then.. mums cav 2litre 16v eco-pap will run fine starts ok everything fine then it'll start hunting but only between 900-1500 rpm then stall start it up and it runs however tick over is usually around the 2k mark!! has had a new water temp sensor cleaned out icv still doing it, its now putting the ecu light on jut before it stalls once you restart though it goes out again i think it might be the air temp sensor (by the afm) just wondered if you might know for definiate what it is?

Cheers in advance :)

First thoughts would be ICV, but you've had a go at that, hopefully you re-oiled it after cleaning otherwise it will continue to stick....

Second thought is AFM, these being faulty often kick up the EM light and cause the poor running as you've described.

I'd do the paperclip test on the diagnostic plug and using the info on the topbuzz website, determine if it's the AFM or not at fault and go from there.

Why? Do you have an EM problem?

If so I have all the fault codes on my PC for vauxhall EM systems...

Hi,

What car is it that you are having the problem on ?

I have had this fault in the past and it was the sender in the fuel tank not fitted correctly after I had changed the tank.
