Help please - went to get petrol and my bloody petrol flap thingy wont open, feels like its the lock thats jammed shut....

anyone know how to fix ir or how much it'll cost to get fixed :(:(:(

got no petrol to go anywhere :(:(:(:(

Yep ... happened to me in my old vectra

Inside the boot on there is a flap that is partly cut out (you may need to run a knife around this) then you can pull the solenoid to release the cap ...

you will need a new solenoid which is about £30 from vauxhall which is easy to change 2 screws if I remember right

Common problem on the vectra's from what I've heard :(

There is a way but can't remember how to do it sorry

right well, what a nightmare this has been.....

Got someone who said they could get it done for me today but closed up before i finished work. He closes again tomorrow before i finish again but has ordered the part for me which i pick up at lunch time.

Mark sent me instructions (thanks) so im attempting to do the change myself after work tomorrow :( wish me luck lol ill need plenty haha

ok managed to get the solinoid changed with a little help from phone a friend :D got myself all excited about going for a drive and getting her some juice, got in the car, keys in.........nothing, god dam batterys flat!!!

been outside trying to charge it since 5ish and its still not starting :(:(:(

will need to get a new battery tomorrow, typical for all this to happen when im needing the car to go snowboarding :(:(

and to top it all off its freeeeeeeeeezin outside.......

before you buy new batt why not try jump starting it first
charing from mains just 'dribbles' the power in

Best way to charge battery is trickle charge imo ;)

it wouldnt jump with leads and my dad told me not to bump it so i had no other choice :(

nah boost it then take for a good drive ie 10 20 min run bring back and try in 24 hr rhyd remember i run 12 different trucks plus mine mate boost aint best but better than new battery as waste of brass if the other down on levels etc i prefer boost then run than trickle tbh

Same as my Omega the other day, which is why I had to let battery charge all day.

Yeah of course 'boost' is best idea if you're sat at the side of the road etc, but not always the only way of doing it..
