Astra F Digi Display

Hi Guys,

Just got a 95 AstraVan a few days ago. Been to work in it at 6am this morning without any hassles. Just turned my lights on and the dash clock lights/digital display unit above the stereo goes out. If I turn the lights off, the digi display unit comes to life again.

Im guessing its an earth fault. Is there anywhere specific I need to look or is it like every oither electrical gremlin which could be hiding anywhere.

I also have discovered theres no brake lights or reversing lamps :confused:

I have checked the fuses in the dash mounted fusebox. Is there anywhere else I need to look ?

Hi,

Have you checked the dimmer switch by the light switch ?

As this dims the dash when you turn the lights on.

the dash lights prob a faulty switch or the dial turned down but should be about see still just dim

brakes bulbs ok?wires on the switch?are the rest of the rear light still working?

The dash lights have been traced to a faulty dimmer switch. Thanks to Rhyd :D . All sorted.

The rest of the rear lights are working OK. The reversing lights started playing ball tonight although the brakes lights are still not working. The bulbs are OK and Im thinking the switch on the pedal (thanks wayne!).

brake switch or dodgy earth mate had it on all 3 of my vans both faults

how **** are the dimmer switches ...seen so many posts like these and its always been the dimmer switch....would love to know if anyone out there still has one that works?

mine works!! if it is the brake light switch it is real easy to fix, chop and change. if you have trouble finding one i may have one lying about, pm me!
