i all!!!

for ages now my clutch release bearing has been making a little bit of noise.

monday night it urned into a loud squeek and rumble.

not wanting to drive the car to stoke and back on a wednesday i have borrowed Nickys car with her not using it.

anyway the point...ive decided to do the engine swap while i have an excuse.

what i wanted to know was: does anyone have any ideas as to what i should put in there.

XE
C25XE
C20NE/SEH
C20LET (bit costly)

with me being a tight bugger and having very little to spend what are my options and everyones opinions?

what sort of work is involved and roughly how much would it cost how long it would take.

as usual im not asking much!!

thanks in advance

Mike

and slap a supercharger on it, 8v has plenty room to do it. seen a corsa with a 1.8 8v on you tube with it done.

C20NE - cheap, plenty about still, very underated and pretty bombproof - shift along pretty well in an Astra too

just need a mpi fuel pump bud as for engines stick with the 1.4 til you can easly afford a 2.0 it'll cost you bout 50-100 for decent donor car a fair few beers for payment and a weekend should see it done insurance and tax wise shouldnt break the bank with that either doubt insurance will cover on let or 6 pot due to age imo
