I have a late model corsa c, I have an aftermarket wiring loom and a sony cd player.
I have connected the lead into the vauxhall wiring loom and connected into the back of my cd player (sony) wiring loom and at that point i get a beep
but there is no power coming to the stereo, ive noticed there is 2 wires which are not connected to anything at all, a red and an orange wire, should
these be connected anywhere?
Ive checked all the fuses in the car and infact ive put the standard stereo in and its working fine.
Do you have any ideas as to what the problem may be?

if im correct the red is permanent live yellow is alternate live and the orange is the illumination,
so it should be red to red, but if you have the dodgy vauxhall wiring then you may have to swap the red and yellow wires around so red to yellow so the stereo will keep its memory

i know about the red and yellow wires and they are swapped on the sony part of the loom, there is no power getting to the sony at all, even if these wires werent swapped the thing should power up (it just wouldnt hold its memory)

think you need this Andy, I checked on the corsa forum and it confirmed what I was thinking. The facelift corsa stereo is linked up thru the can-bus system in the car.
can-bus put simply are 2 wires that from a circuit thats links every electrical unit in the car together. thats means a normal iso connector wont work is the can-bus system so i recon that is the led you need.
ill confirm this when someone from the corsa forum gets back to me.
this is Pllusy on chiks comuter btw, but most of you will prob have guessed that it wasnt chik for the technical reply! lol

Have you set to it with a multimeter yet? You need to be checking your feeds with and without ignition on. Personally, for running a head unit I run fresh feeds from the battery - this is especially needed if you intend to use the head unit's onboard amp as the car's wiring may not be rated for the current an aftermarket set can pull.
