astra mk4 blown??

ryt my sisters car a astra mk4 1.6 ran low on oil for a day or 3 and then started making a tapping noise. i put oil into it and the the noise got worse and started making a belt slip type noise wen agresivly reved??? the cars tapping noise got louder then the car cut out and will not start unless reved then cuts out unless constent revs r on it??

just a thought, has the alternator belt come off and making said tapping noise, we sold a vectra at work because it started tapping, turned out to be the air con belt having a party in its casing!

How much too low was the oil level to start with?

engine now seized for sum reason a spark plug broke in half an gone in engine whilst running
