Hi Emma's mate has a problem with his Brava and I've been promised to sort it out lol.
I've not seen the car yet, but fault is EML on and off intermittently - missfire occurs when this happens..
HT Leads & Plugs have been replaced - No improvement.
Diagnostics says Fuel Injection Cycle 4 Fault, the injector has just been replaced but still the same.
Any ideas guys?

What engine mate?
Will ask on Fiatboo if they know.
Am guessing now but is it a 1.4 by any chance?

if the injector and the leads have been replaced then i would be checking wiring for shorts and bad earths i think. other than that im out.

just thinkin, do these have a maf sensor on them? cant remember offhand. could be worth a look also as this has an effect on fueling.
would be low down on the list of things to try tho. just a thought in case you get stuck.

We've had a few of these - always been an injector fault. Was it replaced with a new one or 2nd hand?

it was a new injector they went and got one for the garage to fit. cost them £70. fiat wanted £90 plus vat.

Check the coil pack, the fuel filter and are you 100% sure the plugs replaced were the ones needed?

You reckon wrong plug gap could be causing this then if wrong plugs were used?

was startin to think this myself.
ryhd to answer your question about the plugs, later rovers suffer really badly if you dont put the right plugs in. to the extent that i have seen internal engine damage as a result of wrong plugs fitted.
never heard of it with fiat but im not saying its a definate no. could be worth nippin to your nearest fiat dealer and getting a set of oe plugs and try them.
would check the gaps on the ones in the car at the moment before you do that tho.

Update it's a 1.6 MPi and it's a spanner symbol on the dash flashing intermittently causing the car to 'chug'
Will see if I can get a look at it today and will check all wiring to injectors & earths to begin with...
Cheers
