Smelt petrol on my way whom tonight, had a quick scan under the car and couldn't see any leaks but something is definatly there?!?! Anyone got any ideas where it could be leaking or popular places for the cav's to leak fuel? iis not a major leak as its holding the fuel still and the needle isn't going down any quick. Any advise would be great save me some time when i'm underneath the bugger tommorrow!
Thanks in advance Mick

just a thought can you smell it inside the car? is the smell just there all the time or is it coming thru your heater vents?

Not coming through the heater vents, I tried that one! It has been coming and going all day though,

Fuel lines? Is the fuel tank vent pipe split or blocked?

Steel fuel lines rot, tank rots around seam, rubber fuel lines perish - usual Cav places to check. MY GTE stinks of fuel when filled above half - never, ever found a leak though :(

Didn't have time check today but will do tommorrow, I'm certain that it well may be the vent pipe as I filled her up today and the overflow clicky stupid thing wouldn't give it a rest at BP!

where is vent pipe?
Normally running from top of fuel tank back towards filler tube on most cars, in my experience..
