Hiya :welcome:

I had a calibra, stunning cars in my opinion. I killed mines tho, the back end spun out which was a bit of a shock and i expertly guided it into a barrier on the motorway. I thought it was diesle on the road or something.

dunno if this is true, but loads of people have since told me that theres hardly any weight in the back of a calibra, which makes this kind of incident happen quite often, so i reckon you should counter weight the back of your car with a trunk load of AV equipment :D any excuse eh lol

The redtop that we put in my astra always ran without the oil cooler and never had any problems :)

yes mate it isnt a proplem and ive done it few times although why are you removing it ?

to do it you need to get the sandwich plate of another engine which doesnt run a cooler

calibraboy-2007
06-04-2008, 10:26 PM
what did you do with the oil filter end just blank them off

calibraboy-2007

the one time you get to tell me I'm wrong  heehee

To Post Photos:

1. Upload your photo to a photo hosting site.
2. Copy the URL for the photo and paste it in your message.
3. Paste url in to message box and wrap two image tags at the start amd at the end and will look like this:

No need for a sandwich plate, nip down a scrappy find an old 8v vaux engine unscrew the filter then unscrew the pipe what the filter screws on to using 10mm allen key. Then do the same with yours (which is about 10mm longer)and the sandwhich plate will drop off fit the new screw then just tighten your filter on to that jobs a good un.

same with all old vauxhalls mate, go like ****....... round the back arches.

just need to keep on top of it as its gettin on a bit, pressure washer in about the lip of the arch is always good practice when washin the car.

stiff bristled brush is a good way of gettin the lip of the arches really clean. if they are caked in mud and crap off the road then i would use a brush to get all that off then just keep on top of it with a pressure washer.
