doin a x20xev out of a astra g into a 1.4 astra g and i got everything for it , engine, gearbox, ecu, wiring loom all on the sub frame with drive shafts and hubs ect. now da merchanic took all my engine out and it turns out that the ecu does not go on to the connector from the car. so what will i need to change now??

ecu connects to the new engine loom mate? where in the car are you trying to connect to have you put new loom in?
has mechanic taken out old loom also?

sounds as i the multiplug to power the loom up is differnt steve only onther place shell clip in to car to engine it this is the case its a case of findin out what wire did what on the old engine and vice versa on new un

well wen i say loom i mean the 1 on the engine, the ecu connects onto that 1 but then does not connect on to the outer connector

Right well thats what wayne is trying to say... i think at least. You'll have to dig out the wiring diagram and see what does what on each motor. if your lucky it will only be one or two that are different, at least thats how it was when we put the xe in Heathers old astra.

aparinly the connector wont even go on the ecu ????

the engine loom is were the ecu clips in to my knowledge so if youve got both the engine and loom for the said engine then sumert aint right if i was on the road id pop over ave a look

the ecu has got 2 connectors 1 fron the engine and one from the car is the loom to the dash so iv bin told and the 1 from the loom from the dash wont fit into it

i see in that case you need to cut into the loom and splice the appropriate wires together as joes says using correct wiring diagrams for both cars

i can get the dash wiring loom for it with the clocks would that be easyer ?
