16 for me but as already said with mods a lot higher

the group of a car doesnt actually change when its modded, the policy premium is loaded according to the increased risk with associated mods

my policy with my previous insurer was loaded 10% for the alloys and 15% i think for the suspension

OCDave

i see 25% steep

Im with adrian flux on my astra it clearly states its group 17 although that may be them just taking the **** because there robbing *******s, my corsa xe was defo a group 16 from a group 6 this may of been because of the engine swap though.

Chikin

some insurance companies work off their own group rating. Norwich union go up to group 40 based on claim rates

wayne85
18-02-2009, 09:16 PM
how does that work in my case the the policy simply swap cars

Chikin
18-02-2009, 10:35 PM
if i could understand what you just wrote i might be able to answer

wayne85
18-02-2009, 10:47 PM
sorry

on m plate sri cav group 14 i paid 800
same company and policy just car swap
s reg vectra st 2.0 group 13 1300

i cant understand the theory

Pllusy
18-02-2009, 11:01 PM
maybe they have had a higher claim rate on st's than on cav's

wayne85
18-02-2009, 11:03 PM
500 st made how many thousand cavs lol just seems silly add over 50% of the premium on

Pllusy
18-02-2009, 11:18 PM
because the car is rarer as well could bump it up. i gave up tryin to work out insurance.

wayne85
18-02-2009, 11:21 PM

Pllusy
18-02-2009, 11:29 PM
