seems a shame to break it .try posting up about the fault in the mechanical section ,maybe someone on here can help or throw in some new ideas ...you never know

I agree it'd be a real shame to break it, post up what's wrong... or sell it to me for a good price and I'll promise to keep it whole... too many Cavs getting broken even now. :)

Ian.

it has a 6k misfire you can drive through it and at 6250 it clears its not det as its been checked for it and what ever you think of replacing ive done it lol

air flow meter
coil
dizzy
leads been checked by magnacor
plugs bk8 (new) many different types different plug gaps
cap/arm (new)
injectors 3 different types standard z20let vxr ones
ecus 3 different types even fitted mine to heath
cts (new)
turbo changed due to failure (new)
boost pipes (new)
re ringed engine (new)
1.9mm gasket fitted(new)
crank sensor (new)
knock sensors (new)
actuator (new)
amal valve (new)
fuel pump relay (new)
panel filter fully cleaned
uprated fuel pump

im sure ive missed some thing lol

Sunday my mate heath came up with a standard ecu and standard injectors with lots of swopping around we found out that my airflow meter ecu injectors are fine i even swopped my chips around ! as i have a spare set of phase 3 chips so its not one for trying !!

Im going to try a new crank sensor and engine loom if its still not fixed its a trip to noble and is they can not find the fault its game over and sorry the car wouldn't go as it is even if it for the right money !

it runs eds phase 3.5
tubbular manifold
gt28 turbo
large inter cooler
z20let injectors
head fully ported and polished matched inlet
1mm over sized valves
eds top hat
4.5 fuel reg
scorpion exhaust de cat

nothing major really it just plays up lol

is it running a large turbo and downpipe without a cat and" high boost "?
i can see the decat and turbo spec but no mention of boost ,also does the boost pressure fluctuate at the same time as the missfire ....

nope no cat fitted and runs a gt28 turbo bigger than standard and no the boost doesnt drop or fluctuate as its an original eds kit it will switch from 8 psi to 24psi

last night went to my mates when i left it was perfect but a few miles up the road the fault was back ! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

i have a crank sensor to fit in a bit and another cts so we will see what happens lol

what i am thinking (cos you have covered most of the bases) is that it is suffering from boost creep at high rpm due to lack of backpressure in the exhaust system, which is why i asked about the boost figures .its an easy fix if it is by putting a restrictor plate in the exhaust system to cause back pressure ,sometimes a huge exhaust can be detrimental to the engine performance

well the exhaust is just a 2.5inch scorpion the down pipe is been made to fit the turbo but its just standard bore to day i fitted a new crank sensor and new9just on the off f cts and a brake servo pipe9just on the off chance)and i also drop the plug gap to .5 and still the same if i build the rev's up really slowly its fine and also when its cold it really has me beaten !!!

there are loads of things this could be but one clue is that when it is cold its ok suggesting a possible fueling issue ,have you tried a plug cut test to see if any of the cylinders are running lean when it gets up to temperature
